What's your point?

I objected to OP's claim that GOG connect hasn't had games added in years which is demonstrably false. Connect games being a temporary deal doesn't factor into that at all.

I was just pointing out that those aren't obtainable by new users of that service is all.

Also if you were busy irl/etc when they were given away you were also out of luck.

Okay, that wasn't the point OP and I were arguing though.

If only GOG offered a newsletter of some sort. That would allow you to snatch up freebies even while being on vacation.

Many sometimes forget to check their emails at prompt intervals, or lose access to the internet for various reasons. It's not like GOG sends out physical newspapers/reports and disc copies of games.
I would buy more games here if they would sell more of them.

DadJoke007: So, the core of the issue is that prices are too steep for certain games you are willing to pay less for and that you would buy more games if they lowered the price on those games?

Guess they never pondered that specific issue before.

On a more serious note, keep an eye out for sales and GOG Connect if you don't find the price agreeable.
The core of the issue is that if you have a large library of games outside of the GOG ecosystem (some I know easily have 400+) there isn't enough of an incentive to re-purchase them all through GOG.

It's easy and reductive to simply say "Oh, you want your games cheap," but that isn't a full accounting of the situation... which is that GOG certainly wants people heavily invested in their ecosystem, not picking up one game or another once in awhile.

kai2: I do think it would be easier to populate than GoG Connect was. That's been barren for years.

Randalator: February 2018: 7 games
June 2018: 10 games
September 2018: 5 games
December 2018: 9 games
January 2019: 7 games

Oh no! The years of barrenness!
Where are you getting your data?

Check out the GOG Connect Wiki. It stops in 2017.

On a final note: I'm sure you see yourself as some crusader of salt and sarcasm making people who post pay for their lowly idiocy, but it just makes you look like a loser. There's no battle happening here that you can win to feel good about yourself and your station in life. I've made a suggestion based on my thoughts, feelings, and what I've seen from being a pretty regular GOG customer and visitor. If it all makes you too angry to contain yourself, maybe it's time go outside and enjoy nature? Lower your blood pressure.

Scroll up. I even linked it for you.

The thing about Wikis is, they are maintained by regular people who at any given point might lose interest. This particular wiki has been dead and read-only since 2018 (it even says so right there on the main page) and already been on life support way before.

But I'm a winner! I'm winning so much, I'm like "Please Mr. Randalator, I'm sick and tired of winning!"... How could it all go so wrong so quickly?

There's no battle happening here that you can win to feel good about yourself and your station in life.
I'm quite happy with my life, but thanks for your concern.

I'm not angry. I'm famously un-angry bordering on Oz levels of stoic. You're the one getting hung up on a minor playful jab that wasn't even personal.

And I didn't even comment on, let alone disagree with your suggestion. I just pointed out your plainly and obviously wrong claim regarding Connect.

Lower your blood pressure.
Any lower and my doctor would have to issue a death certificate. I don't think she'd like that. Doctors need to sleep too, you know.

In hindsight that argument was both intellectually lazy and dirty, you are absolutely right.

Thanks for helping our classic gog connect Thread with facts :D.

GameRager: Compared to how many games GOG has in total?
You do know the developer/publisher has to agree to do Connect as well.
I will maintain buying "classics" on gog. Due to the rocky nature of how more recent games get supported here, I've stopped buying those here for some time and it will remain so until it gets sorted out. It's as simple as that for me.
