Clan of the Owl

The clan of the Owl is now available!!
Ranked Games
As is now a recurrent process, the clan is available to play in every game mode except ranked games. It will become available in a few days after we’ve received enough feedback and data on its balancing and we’ve adjusted values accordingly if needed.

Wisdom Victory
The Wisdom Victory has been reworked to be more active.
The Ancestral Knowledge Blessing can now be unlocked after unlocking 9 Knowledges (15 previously).
But it doesn’t immediately trigger a victory, it unlocks a new building: the Monument.
The monument must be built and fueled with the Lore / Faith production of the clan to achieve Victory.
When the construction is completed, the building is revealed to all clans, and a notification informs them of your intention to aim at a Wisdom Victory.
After the Monument is built, all Lore production of the clan no longer accumulates to unlock Knowledge but is consumed by the Monument. (Although a toggle on the building allow to stop the Lore consumption if needed)
It will require more or less Lore / Faith depending on its distance from the center of the map.
If the building is destroyed, the Lore accumulated in it is lost and the building must be built again.

Lobby-Finder, Ranked and Multiplayer Games
New multiplayer options are available: Ranked Games, and Quick Games.
Those options propose a reduced selection of game modes but use a lobby-finder system to match players in lobbies.

Other game modes and options are still available in custom lobbies, and you can still manually create and search lobbies for casual games.
This new system is now the only way to play ranked games, for reasons of balancing and fairness.

With the addition of this system, the rule that prevented the loss of GP in case of defeat during the first 10 minutes of a game is removed. (This rule had been implemented to prevent win-trading, which this new system should prevent)

New Achievements
Owl Achievements
Now you know how that Feels - Attack Woodcutters with the Guardian of Realms in a single game.
The little shop of Gifts - Give at least 6 Knowledge to other clans in a single game.
Knowledge is Power - Gain access to the Lore Tree of 7 other clans in a single game.
The Old Guard - Win by Unleashing the Realms' power.

Squirrel Achievements
A Meal fit for a King - Win by cooking the Banquet of Valhöll.

General Achievements
Natural Reserve - Have more than 10 natural resources in your territory in a single game.

Balancing and Changes
Raven
Raven no longer gains a flat gain of Lore when revealing a zone, but generates a flux of Lore when scouting, with Sailors and Scouts alike.
Stoat
Subject Faith production is decreased to +1. (instead of +1.5)
Kröwns and Faith Levies accumulate -20% slower.
Faith Levies no longer boost the production on Subjects.
Horse
Excavation - Excavation now generates Lore for every Ore mined by the clan, not just the Warchiefs. (Now also works with Dwarven Operatives, or the Iron Wood of the Owl Clan, for example)
General
We’ve made changes to address the current “rush meta” and making rushing a less optimal strategy.

Supply Malus now also impacts Defense in addition to Attack Power.
Supply Malus max values has been decreased to -20%. (previously -30%)
When overcapping max Warband, the Supply Malus is 2 times stronger. (max -40%)
Scouts have a new ability - after you’ve discovered enemy frontiers, even if your Scout Camp is not upgraded, you can assign your scouts to the frontier to see through the fog and get information on the enemy territories.
This won’t discover the zone or allow you to enter the territory but just give you temporary information.

A new rule has been added to 3v3 fair map generation to make sure ally and enemy Town Halls are at a minimum distance of 6 zones.
A new rule has been added to 1v1 fair map generation to make sure Town Halls are at a minimum distance of 5 zones.

Minimum number of building slots per zone is now 3 - Except Swamps. (previously 2)
Sheeps reduce Firewood by -30% (previously -20%).
End game lore stats now display the current stock of Lore so you can see when Lore is consumed. For Lion and Owl you can check the Faith/Lore spent to recruit units, or build buildings, in addition to Knowledge unlocked.
A new game en stats show the Lore produced specifically toward the victory monument.
The God’s Wisdom Victory now requires to control the Sword of the Gods and unlock 15 Knowledge to be achieved.

AI and Difficulty

AI behaviors have been reworked and updated to be more consistent and more challenging especially at higher levels of difficulty.

Minor NPCs such as villagers and the patrons of an inn have things to say once more. They don’t give information but do reflect on their culture, your deeds, your status, and recent affairs. The aim is to make the world feel more responsive by acknowledging your actions and choices.

On top of that, some bugs were fixed.

New Features:

• Villagers and visitors have things to say again. They comment on recent events, your deeds, your status, or say something that reflects their culture.
• Adds a few more specific rumors about the specific state of nodes.

Bug Fixes:

• Prevents the generator from changing ‘the place’ into a corridor leaving not enough room to spawn mission critical things like spider eggs.
• Nerfs the equipment of the first enemy in the tutorial.
• Fixes an issue with missing floor tiles in corridors near gates.
• The sparks in the tutorial always spawn regardless of how many sparks you have.
• The features that are supposed to spawn in the south and east corners of a room no longer get switched around.
• Gets rid of a couple of lingering effects caused by world data not fully clearing when switching between saves or starting new worlds.
