Starkrun: I dont intend to flame but unless you have a haxxord version... why hate on 10?
its better memory, process, and drive sector management... it can me made to look like 7 in all ways with a simple small program and well, everything that 7 does 10 can do. I dont understand the hate... it looks/runs just like every taskbar and startmenu GUI run linux... so that point is moot.
that said ubuntu has more call home in the backend then any telemetry 10 has, plus they sell all that stuff while Microsoft does not.
Elmofongo: I am not upgrading to WIndows 10 mostly because of compatibility issues of games I own.
(I mean Diablo 1 CD may not even work at all on Windows 10)
If I ever use Windows 10 it might aswell be from a Laptop or something.
I've been finding that most retro games work on Linux, even odd stuff like Lands of Lore III. Dungeon Keeper 2, Arcanum, Temple of Elemental evil, Warhammer Shadow of The Horned rat, all works a whole lot better under Wine on Linux than it does on Windows these days - they don't in many cases. Diablo works brilliantly as well.
Just can't play the latest AAA Direct3D 11 games on there, but not a big loss anyway in my book. I've got Underrail working as well took a bit of experimenting but eventually found that playonlinux has nice scripts for setting up .net games. And no surveillance or forced updates! Windows 10 can't do that.
