Haven't kept up with his stuff recently but I used to be a big fan. Real shame.

Matewis: [...] His 'WTF is .. ?' videos are great fun to watch, even if sometimes a bit on the long side. [...]
Almost all his videos are on the long side, and more than just a bit; I would say the "WTF Is..." series are some of the least egregious offenders in that regard, if for no other reason than that they were actually showing him playing a game while he bloviated. I respect him (more or less), and like a lot of his stuff (including that Terraria LP with Jesse Cox), but I tend to avoid most of his videos where he's just talking about a topic, rather than playing something while talking, because he just keeps repeating a lot of the same things over and over and over throughout the video, so what should've been a 5- or 10-minute video becomes 20 to 40 minutes (or longer!). He clearly loves the sound of his own voice just a bit too much. (I'm sure a good part of it has to do with behind-the-scenes YouTube stuff, such as the recommendation algorithm preferring longer videos or something, but I don't really care about that if it results in videos being pointlessly padded out.)

Much of this goes for Jim Sterling as well, except that 1.) he's far less pleasant to listen to (and not just because of the incessant swearing and borderline histrionics), and 2.) he makes us look at him as well.

Shadowstalker16: TL;DR from the original post on his subreddit : Conventional treatments ineffective, liver too damage for clinical trials that we know of. I'm retiring as a critic to spend whats left of my life sharing my love of gaming with my wife and all of you via co-op videos and streams. The podcast will continue every week, with a streamlined 2-hour format.
Although a good month water fast and cannabis would probably help a lot more than those treatments...

But nevermind, I'm one of the 'fans' that he probably hates because i thought the trap question was funny.
If anyone has anything to say to ShadowAngel, best do it now.

I would imagine he won't be part of the forum for very much longer. :D

One of the biggest, moronic pieces of disgusting shit basically on his last breath. Cancer sometimes can be a good thing, who knew?

Next one to leave/die is hopefully Jim Sterling.
I generally save that kind of ire for the folks who end up on death row for unspeakable crimes.

Fairfox: dont kno him, but taht sucks. i kno several peeps who are (...or were) in fair lee similar situations.

drmike: Wow, seriously? Fairfox shows compassion for someone and he gets downvoted?
Consider her post upvoted. :)

drmike: edit: Flipping thru his twits [...]
Now, that's not very compassionate. ;)
Had my quarrels with the guy, particularly four years ago and for obvious reasons. But I do like his voice, I do like the way he reported on games, and found his videos generally enjoyable.

All the best, John.

Wow, seriously? ShadowAngle shows....

um....

When's the going away party?

I have to admit that I;m not a fan of TotalBiscuit. There was some issue eons ago that I took offense to and I never viewed his videos again. I don;t even remember what it was.

The guy has a wife and family. I wouldn;t wish that on anyone. edit: Cancer I mean.

edit: Jim doesn;t look like my cup of tea either but he seems to be doing well so someone must like him.

That's too bad. I haven't really been keeping up with him lately, but he used to be the first guy I'd go to for information on new games, especially his Port Reports, industry events, his news posts, etc.

I genuinely hope that the rest of his life is as good as it possibly can be. I wish him and his wife all the best. :|

Amen to that.

I'm not a fan either, but, naturally, I wish him and his family all the best.

Oh I don't think so, not in TB's case at least. I attribute it to his ad hoc method for making those videos while playing the game. If your attention is divided between talking and doing something else, not to mention not really having rehearsed anything beforehand, then its very easy to just kind of start rambling. I think TB is somewhat guilty of this, which shows his talent imo because he nevertheless manages to make excellent and very informative videos.
I never found anything interesting/new/worthwhile within TB's videos and I don't like the political agenda that he pushes with them.

I'm sorry he has cancer though.
I pity him but to be honest Totalbiscuit has lost relevence to me ever since he lost his "edge" for me. And among other things that lowered my opinion of him.

If you got cancer I'd be inclined to agree.
