The stench of marketing permeates this job listing, and I wouldn't be able to think of anyone who would wilfully demean themselves to such a title, except a mindless sycophant, or a psychopath.

Product Manager is here, with the caveat of customer retention. Perhaps they upgrade product specialist into a position that pays a competitive wage? Wouldn't know!

Though, as post 40 notes, maybe hiring a glorified consultant would be overpaying for a useless role, when the customers have made their wishes in public.

I'm not a lawyer, but don't most companies keep a legal council on retainer?

Why would GOG be seeking a new one?

Companies who deal with contracts and international law as often as GOG does typically have their own in-house Legal Counsel. But they probably keep a LAWYER on retainer for when they need to take a case to court or have certain specialized legal documents drafted (neither of which can be done by a Legal Counsel).

What I find curious about the position, though, is that their requirements are oddly vague. Experience in e-commerce is "welcome", but not required. Experience with contracts and IP is an "additional advantage". They expect "practical knowledge of legal regulations", but don't actually say what KIND of regulations (Industrial regulations? Child care regulations? Food regulations? Obviously not, but you get my point...)

This almost sounds like it's for a lower-level position that will be trained up by a more senior member.

...I'm sorry, this position seems to be a complete bench warmer position. Searching for solutions to problems that don't exist, or worse; have such blindingly obvious solutions that everyone is afraid to state them for fear of making someone look foolish.

This position reads "Database manager with frills", but they didn't feel like saying so.
