I hate to be that guy but it seems unless people start advocating for games and getting them popular again it seems they will be low priority for getting re-released.

So I wanted to talk about an amazing old games that needs some sort of new-port:

Turrican 1

Turrican 2

When you talk about old school action platforming games, these simply were the best. These games literally pushed the C64 to the most extreme limits and the game-play and level design was so good that it was port-able to make it from 8-bit computers to 16 bit computers without people recognizing that it was a port of an 8-bti game.

It was just so tight in controls, and the level design was so new age it felt and played like any brand new AAA game of the time. In fact, even games like Dark Souls owe their linear open world design that progression is only inhibited by skills to games like Turrican. (2D Dark Souls with guns)

In many ways Turrican is an easy game, there is tons of lives and power-ups to find, but then again getting those without dying instantly is the difference between a new player and skilled warrior. Much like Rastan or Volgar the Viking.

Game like Contra make the Shmup genre look relatively easy. Running and jumping shooting that right spot. But Turrican takes it to the next level as its all about how you run and jump, and shooting and aiming is not same way you would expect it. Its funny cause a lot of the core changes Turrican did for the run and gun types of games never fully got copied. Except for GunLord but I have no plans on getting MVS system, and it is a totally shame they won't do a Steam release... But I digress.

There is far too few games like Turrican. Even if they get close they still cannot match the amazing level of detail that was put into the first two game.

Then you have two version to choose from and honestly they both are amazing.

The C64, which lacks colors but is smooth and fast as hell.

Or the Amiga version that has Chris Huelsbeck's interpretation of the source material. (both at amazing BTW) And also has better colors.

I really would love to see GOG to restore both versions of the Turrican games 1 & 2

I love the C64 and Amiga version, it would be great to see this series restored and hopefully get the team to consider making a new title in the series.
I second that. It was the NES version we had but it was an awesome game.

It's been so long since I've played it I only really remember one level, it was late in the game I think and it was some kind of dump / recycling facility or something and you had to dodge falling waste and stuff. I seem to remember that's where me and my brother got stuck...
Here you go, voted, let's hope we'll see it here soon :)
The high point for me was the Amiga version of Turrican 2. Fantastic game, and fantastic music. I still listen to the soundtrack sometimes.

The C64 version of Turrican II is one of my favorite games ever. I still play through it every 1-2 years and i'm always having a blast.

It's unlikely that GOG will sell emulated C64 and Amiga games but i'd love to see the DOS version of Turrican II on GOG.

Some new Turrican-style games would also be great. Those "metroidvania" style games released nowadays just don't cut it.

Of course i must also mention the best Turrican remake i played so far - Hurrican:

Awesome game and best of all - it's free. Much more fun to play than many games i bought.

Given that GOG already sells emulated Amiga games, it's certainly not impossible, even if those are a special case.

And open source. I gotta check out the code one of these days.
I still play the Turrican games once in a while on the Amiga, it's a lot of fun and sometimes I just play to listen to the music. Another game that has amazing music is The Killing Game Show, I only played the demo so don't know if it ever was released as a full game. Not possible to save so it's kind of hard but that might just be the demo.
Turrican 2 on the Amiga is one of my all time favourite games, and I love Amiga games.
Never played the DOS version, how was it?

I played a couple of the Turrican games on SNES and Genesis, I'd be up for getting these. Voted.
If you have a Dreamcast you can play Gunlord.
Agreed. I had Turrican on both CBM64 & A1200, great game.
If someone does a good remake, I`ll throw them some money \o/
OH YES! TURRICAN! I think i played it on SNES? Anyway it was awesome. I would love to see a GOG release. Didn't Factor 5 work on them before they made Lair for PS3 and imploded?
