Occurred to me:

A demake of Baldur's Gate, using an engine similar to the old SSI games (or perhaps to Ultima 6), and with turn based combat, might be interesting.

tremere110: On a more serious(?) note, there is a demake for Lucius:

Never tried it myself though.
It's not bad. I have the original and that one.

Nice idea. Been looking for a reason to do something constructive in Godot, might give that one a go - although very small scale, maybe the first dungeon in BG2 - everyone loves that.

While not a MV, it might be worth checking out the GBC Tomb Raider games.

I think I had the second one when I was a kid (basically same gameplay/engine) and I remember it being pretty fun.

Oh! I did have one of them. Thank you for sparking the memory. Yes, I felt they kept the style of the original intact (I am an old-school fan who hates the gameplay of the Uncharted-style reboot with a passion).
I was just thinking of this.

"Remasted" versions of games should come with a copy of the original, or a way to "un-tick" certain "upgraded" features.

Imagine taking the Mona Lisa and saying "it's too dated, let's make a photo-realistic, pencil-drawn version." It would ruin it. The original, in its original medium often captures the vision/feal much better than a "remake". Sometimes remakes can be very good though if they don't change things.
