Why would that matter compared to a new game? Just play the original commandos 2, I never cared for a remaster since I can just play the original.

Because Kalypso clearly has no interest in portraying the WWII setting with the appropriate authenticity? Even though they're not forbidden from doing so anymore since 2018?

A tentative release in September 2021 seems a bit too optimistic for something that's still in pre-alpha though.

I am not into RTS but this looks like a game to consider. The reveal trailer has scenes reminding me of several WW2 movies like The Dirty Dozen, the Nazi castle. What speaks most for it is that at long last one developer doesn't shy back from showing the ugly truth of WW2 - the shooting scene right at the end of the trailer and maybe even having a KZ in it.

This is going to be heavy stuff and I applaud developers for daring to take it that way! It isn't going to be fun and entertainment but - finally - an adult game in the truest sense of the word. No 'clean' and 'surgical' war, honest soldiers pitted against the enemy on a battlefield, but also the inconvenient things no one would really like to see, read or hear about which was the reality for many millions of peoples.

Doing it right and developers will push the envelope of what war games can be. I would go on a limb to hope that this particular game will have an educational value, like including some history lessons - which would clearly take it past the extra mile. Would be nice though. This one has the potential what 'Six Days in Fallujah' developers only promise to deliver, while in all other respects they shy away from the ugly truths they could depict, because they are worried of the backlash to make a game of what the poor soldiers doing the first tour has had to witness versus those they actually worked with, never seeing any of what 'allegedly' happened there - so developers didn't incorporate it ...

That said I will certainly keep an eye on this one and hope that it's going all that it can be for what it is. Thanks for bringing this news here, Swedrami!
