Just happened again

Fresh start after work. Worked from home so definitely pc was not used.

No beeps or lighting on mobo.

Press the start button, the fans speed up as per normal then slow down as per normal.
Then they speed up to slow down again. That's the moment keyboard register the computer, monitor shows the bios access screen.

But that did not happen and just blank.

Noting wrong with the monitor as I use it connected to my work laptop.

So if CPU is busted mobo should make the noise right?
Same with ram, GPU?

So is psu to blame not delivering enough juice?

It could very well be the PSU.

Or it could also be the CPU, or RAM, or GPU, or motherboard.

The only real way to find the culprit is to start swapping out hardware piece by piece until the problem is eliminated.
So you can't even get to bios to load default values? Even when the computer has been off for a while? It would be the first step for me. Especially when there's been overclocking involved.
Usually there's some hard to get jumper pin swithiching to default it. And I guess taking out bios battery for some time would default it.

Edit: I once saw a machine that didn't boot but showed some error message also you could go to bios. In that particular case the boot drive was wrong.

That's correct. Does not give access to bios. No error message. Monitor does not see video card, keyboard does not recognise that computer is on, but it does get power from USB (it's led keyboard from corsair)

Tomorrow I will be checking if all cables are connected securely (psu is modular)
Then if GPU works in my partner computer.
I will Follow up clearing of the cmso
Swapping ram with my partners

Psu connecting is so annoying so don't wanna do it until last thing. It still on 5 year warranty...
Well, make also sure if you are ripping it apart that motherboard doesn't make contact with the case. I actually once didn't put enough or well those what do you call them.. screws which makes mobo a bit further from the case. It totally didn't boot then.
bump. update on this.

i took both panels of my case and disconnected cables.

vacuum a little of dust on cables and just pushed stuff in. did not seem loose.

and then computer started with panels off.

put the panels back in and it has been working no probs for a month now.

no idea wtf happened..
As long as it's working properly, that's good. My left panel is out, just in case. I also experienced some strange behavior in the past, but it had to do with switching from HDD to SSD way too often and damaged cables.
