l0rdtr3k: Dragon Quest V and IV
Oh dear, Dragon Quest IV was never released for the Super Famicom (unless you count a certain rom hack, but I don't).

Also, I consider Dragon Quest V to be overrated. Dragon Quest VI (which you probably *meant* to say) and III (which is a remake, but a significant improvement over the original) are better.

dtgreene: Out of curiosity, why do you count this game, in particular, as an RPG?
How do you count any game mentioned here RPGs?

Although, to be a little on topic TERRANIGMA TERRANIGMA TERRANIGMA
I almost forgot to mention Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger.
And I noticed that a lot of games mentioned here(all of mine included) never left Japan and are only available through fan translations.

Fairfox: Terranigma, fo' sho'. Sold my boxed copy ageeees ago on eBay for triple figures. Secret of Mana, of course, even with the infuriating knock-down-until-dead 'feature', but I was never keen on the Fighting Fantasy games, VI aside. I guess Zelda, although I preferred the Game Boy version (even if it was a lot shorter in length).
Nigga, please.

Perhaps not a true RPG, but I really liked E.V.O.: Search for Eden. It's more of a hack n' slash with choices on how your character evolves through the ages of the Earth.

But I agree with the list so far: Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy...

Darvond: Shin Megami Tensi. I have no clue how Nintendo allowed this on their child friendly console and I'm pretty sure these never made it to the west. There are several on the SFC.
You've got your answer right there. Nintendo was only censorship happy in the west as they were super concerned about conservative Americans accusing 'them Japs' of trying to corrupt their children.

And over 20 years later, you've still got this stupidity happening on both sides. It is as if they never learned.
Just go with Lufia II, you can't go wrong with it :)

It has interesting storyline dungeons with puzzles, tons of loot and Ancient Cave, which is randomly generated 100-floor dungeon.

Pretty much.
