The link on the GoG support page now takes you to a windows 10 installation page. I re-installed windows 7, and need to get the directx software for running older games on windows 7.

Search the M$ website:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/search.aspx?q=directx

Should be able to find most packages there. If its one specific and you can't find it a google search for that will normally throw up some free sites.

The web installer of Direct X is the one i use with no issues so far.
It will auto-update to latest version which fixes compatibility for old games.
