Can check what was said about it in previous threads, like this one or this one, or some of the comments on the wishlist entries. Between EA and Microsoft and compatibility problems, seems like one of the most unlikely games to be here.
It's complicated.

Basically, the rights aside it is simply that the code of Black & White is some wizard black box witchcraft, made for a very specific era of very specific displays. Like Gunmetal, or Mechwarrior 2. GOG doesn't want another Interstate 76 on their hands, where the best way to get it running is to not even run the OS it was designed for.

The damn thing is so overdesigned that it'd be easier to just cleanroom engineer a source port and strip out the chaff.

Couldn't you use say DGVoodoo or something on Interstate 76?
About MechWarrior 2 - can't you just use DOSBOX on that?
I think it plays find on Windows 7. There were problems on some other systems.

If people really want to get it then it can still be found.

Same thing that is keeping a number of games off of GOG....confused rights issues. The "No One Lives Forever" is another example of a confused legal situation keeping a game off GOG.
