You guys are very anti-corporation so your basic view is "screw 'em," I get that. However in a capitalist nation we vote with our dollars, so I'm just telling you the "I don't support microtransactions!" thing goes for other stuff as well. The more XYZ gets pirated and sells less as a result, the less a company is interested in making more XYZ. Thus piracy effects me, even if I don't participate or make games. This is common sense stuff.
2. You find it ludicrous, but most such people with said mindset would find any way to pirate/play for free before buying (They could play a friend's copy(who paid for it), as one example)......even some of them would either buy used(if available) or wait for a HUGE discount before buying, effectively cutting the return to devs down to nothing or close to it. Either way, the devs get nothing from them and to them it may as well be a "lost sale".
I AGREE some make it attractive NOT to pirate(like Hulu and GOG do for movies/shpws and games respectively), but some would go out of their way to keep any money from going into dev's hands, making it almost the same thing(financially) to the dev/etc in the end for those people.

I am not one of em btw, and am NOT 100% anti-corporate. I just am not 100% PRO corporate or think companies can do anything or that they need to make infinite money because "capitalism".
Also you say PIRACY affects you, but it doesn't nearly as much as people buying lootboxes/mobile games/etc...they are shaping the industry more because the companies know that's where the money is at currently.
