It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I just got a notice that my version of Win 10 has reached the end of it's 1.5 year lifecycle and has to be updated almost immediately. Has anyone made it through this already?
Sounds like your automatic updates have stopped working. Did you perhaps disable it yourself?

Sometimes reinstalling your operating system is necessary, or at least recommended.

Once when my mum's commputer stopped installing any new updates, I just downloaded the latest Windows 10 from Microsoft (completely legal if you have a legal license) and installed that and ever since it has worked fine. You will need an empty USB memory stick.
Yep, it's a three hour session.

Win 10 has a 1.5 year lifecycle. My PC is 1.5 years old. So this is my lucky day. : (

That just means you need to update to the latest version and it will be supported again. It is free of charge.

I have zero trust and confidence in these clowns, so it's somewhat stressful.

Switch to Linux then. They are much more trustworthy clowns, and funnier too.

I like funny clowns. :o

The update seems to have been successful, with few noticeable changes. Thank you, Lord!

About 35 minutes for me, thankfully. Whew!

You don't have to update.
But the main problem with the Win10 is "rolling realease", this means software will not be developed for any version other than the last one. If you have a "older" software coded to win10 1.0 (I don't know correct versions) it may not work on newer versions. And vice-versa...
People no more say "this wont work on win7 but work fine on win10" because win10 is not a version. And some say coding for Linux it's hard due the amount of distros...

Good luck GOG updating all the games to work on future releases of win10

Meanwhile, I just updated to the newest Kernel release on Linux, and got to keep doing working.
can anyone explain this to an idiot like myself? :P

Do I need to reinstall 10 or not, and please no guesses or Win10 rants.

They'll give you a heads-up when your version is at the end of it's lifecycle. About 1 hour. lol
Is this a case of just keep the thing updated and you won't have an issue?

Indeed, come over to the dark side. We have cookies! We still have them because new members think they can have some, but they are just for show.
