sanscript: Only collectors and really hardcore fans are interested in these games, and even fewer would spend money on them.
Maybe, but then GOG also has e.g. early Might & Magic and Ultima games, including Ultima 0 = Akalabeth.

I am pretty sure I am not the only one who bought those aforementioned early RPGs without a real intention to play them (maybe just to check them out and that's it). Just owning a piece of important gaming history, kinda. (Albeit, I have played and even finished Ultima 2 and 3 back in the day as a kid, on a Apple IIc computer. With the help of my big brother though.)

So I guess I would similarly buy Wizardry 1-5 in some convenient pack that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Not sure if GOG would make any serious money with them, but anyway.

Until recently, the rights were kinda FUBAR. I assume there's still table sorting to be done.
The Trademark status seems to be listed as LIVE, second renewal. And the last listed owner is "IPM Inc. CORPORATION JAPAN 1-1"

I think they own even the iconic log art.

Interesting link for info like this. Is it really accurate?
