soulgrindr: My worry is that one of the strengths of the game is it's replayable nature. Yet things that were cool the first time in Indigo Prophecy (cleaning, sweeping, getting dressed, etc...) weren't quite so much fun when you had to replay them...

Yes this seriously bugs me about this game. Not only is the end result quite dubious as is, replaying it makes that extremely obvious and taints the entire game. As much as I enjoy such games, the replay value is even lower than that of adventure games where the story doesn't resolve around a single mystery.

That's why you can hop into a specific chapter, and replay it from there. You don't have to go back through the prologue, or the part where you're tending to your kid's needs after he gets home from school.
Heavy Rain has a completely ridiculous story. It is full of logical gaps, plot points that go nowhere or are never explained, tired, banal clichés and moronic characters who consistently act in the dumbest way possible.
The game itself is quite decent. There are plenty of memorable situations, and many of the chapters are awesome. But the overall story? Oh, man. It's just as stupid as Fahrenheit's story, only without the supernatural crap.

ovoon: Didnt you read the disclaimer at the bottom of the article? And who cares what he thinks? Hes just some guy writing funny things on the internets. His Deadly Premonition articles are hilarious. Hes obviously not serious, and if you can't see that then gullible is written on the ceiling.

TheCheese33: I'm talking about his most recent article, where he called the revelation at the end contrived and stupid. He claimed that it dumbed-down game narrative for everybody.

Who cares what he claimed? IT DOESNT MATTER. Hes just a one stupid guy, I don't see how his crappy opinion should bother you.
I saw this and I thought of you:

Don't say i never do anything for you...
That's like saying we should not debate what anyone says or question them. That is a no no in politics and in life. He has a higher level status as being an owner of his own site that gets recognized for it's reviews and editorials and being able to go to E3. He is regarded as credible and people are willing to believe what he says. What he says can influence how others regard this game or any other games which can have an affect on all of us even if it's slight. Also since he is regarded as credible, his work is allowed to be critiqued and debated. If he is posting incorrect or nonfactual things, this can hurt his credibility or people will spread this wrong info. Cheese has all the right to argue his points and question them in a decent matter like everyone else can with something that is made public.
Sterling's point is that Shelby being the killer is unrealistic because he believes that killers can not be morally complex. They must be black or white in their thinking. This is wrong as even as someone as bad as Hitler, while as evil as he was, did it as he cared about his country is a strange sort of way. Sterling also could believe that the game would not reveal him to be the killer since you can hear his thoughts but those are done not to spoil this fact and that he was looking at from an open minded view rather then a killer viewpoint.
