Thanks for the answer. I wondered as I understand France is officially reluctant to adopt terms from other languages. So I thought they might shun USD in favor of something else.

Currency codes are defined in an ISO norm and pretty much global. That said, the word "dollar" exists in French too, as the dollar was, before becoming a currency name, a trade standard ( based on the Spanish colonial 8 reales silver coin) .
