Gundato: So basically, you don't agree with her and decide to say she is "deluded" as the counter-argument.
Navagon: No, the deluded comment is based upon her thinking she's one of the best gamers out there when the people she plays against don't so much as pick up the controller for the duration of the match.
I'm not calling her a whore. I'm calling her an achievement whore. I don't know how you could fail to make the distinction when it's right there in the thread title for one thing.
Oy. I wish I had the willpower to stop arguing :p
Yet again, you seem to insist that she has to play the same game you do.
Do you have any points on your Gamerscore? If so, you "picked up a controller". And lots of other people use the same tactics, so she is definitely competing. Maybe you don't like the game she is playing, but in her game of choice (the Gamerscore game), she is one of the top five.
Let's use an example from Team Fortress 2 (which I will hopefully have a chance to play some time soon). Sometimes, when you have to make a big push, it helps to have a diversion. So someone will charge the enemy defenses while a spy or a heavy/medic assault. That person has no intention of really surviving or winning, they are just trying to support their team by buying some time.
Do I have to draw the parallel, or is that enough?
And my point is that you insist upon calling her derogatory names just because you don't like what she does. You could scream that she is a whore, an achievement whore (honestly, the distinction between those reminds me of little kids explaining why they aren't using hate speech when they mock a classmate, but whatever), or a goat-humper (I prefer sheep, they are softer). The point is that you are using a derogatory term to demean her in an attempt to assert your viewpoint.
