Thinking about it, I kinda liked how it was handled on Mass Effect. Once you completed the game, you got an "achievement" and earned 5% extra XP on subsequent playthroughs. If you spent your game with the Krogan on your party, you got some HP regeneration on subsequent playthroughs.

Provided I can still deactivate them if I feel like doing it from scratch, I like the idea of these extra unlockables with achievements. I have proven I can finish the game, so next time I get something that makes it easier.

^ Now that is some sense in doing achievements. Not like - wohoo you got 3 fishes and gained a level. I have never played a game with good achievements :(

I really like achievement. But I don't see any way how GOG can implement them for the older games.

And on the issues GOG has to fix, achievements aren't really a top priority.

It can be neat. I was excited when I got the ultimate achievements in Deus Ex 3. That said I prefer an in-game system with rewards, rather than just e-peen points.

I wouldn't mind if GOG implemented something similar to Raptr. Tracking gameplay hours and possibly aggregating achievements from other services without affecting a game's .exe file. And it's at the bottom of list of things I'd like to see on GOG.

YES. And several other dozen things that other services have, for which I'll gladly buy at those other services than here.

I'd be fine with it if they don't bother me... but if they are integrated like they are in World of Warcraft, then I'm against it - for example, it has a popup and a sound is played every time you gain an achievement.

No, no, they are utterly pointless. GOG should focus on more important stuff!

I don't care if someone wants to tout what they did, and I kind of dig unlocking outfits and stupid things like that, but if any of these online communities offer perks in the way of gear/accesibilty/moding/cheats, then that would royally piss me off. If this isn't the case anywhere, void the rest of this post. I do this purly for entertainment and fun (you'd never know by the fact that I live in this forum) and I don't want be handicapped by lack of bonuses just because I can't point and click as fast as someone else. On a related note, where does Blizzard get off charging for better gear!? Hey, I do alright finacially, I can afford it, but that's not the point! Isn't that kind of like bribing your way to victory?

As for GOG implementing them I can't see a possible way to do this and as for e-peen points I don't care about them but if they were made optional that would be acceptable.

I only care about achievements that offer me something tangible ingame. As mentioned earlier the achievements in Mass Effect that granted different little bonusses were good. Alternatively and depending on what sort of game it is, things like new skins or items are nice.

If they're just there so I can flex my epeen then I have no interest in them at all and wouldn't want the GOG team to waste their time on creating and maintaining such a system.
