Should I take a job that pays a lot less than I used to earn or wait to see if a better one comes along while I use up my savings?
If I do take this job I will have a lot less time to try and find another one but then I would have a job...
I need some advice because I just keep changing my mind about what is better to do - earning money is always better than not but the role is a lot less senior than what I am used to and that might be tough to get used to.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I currently make about 1/10th what I use to make, I get no time off, and I work 100 times harder, and I have never been happier. Why? I enjoy what I do and I'm my own boss.

Well okay, my cat is my boss but his demands are somewhat limited.

I suppose it depends on what the work is for one thing (i'm presuming by your hints there that its some kind of offcie work?).

Yes it is office work - to be honest the work wouldn't be that much different but I would be doing more basic work instead of telling others to do it
Things tend to be simpler if you're drunk. So make sure you're drinking a lot before you take the final decision .
id personally say take what you can get and then move on when something right comes along, you have something coming in and that is what helps, and prevents the total panic of ok have nothing left in x.
although mine has just backfired immensely - so i wouldnt take my advice if i were you!
I've always found that when you ask for advice on a situation like this, you've already got your answer. Go with whatever it is that you're hoping we're going to suggest you do.

We can't really help you with the actual situation, we have way too little information about things like, your profession, the current employment market, how likely it is that you'll get a new job, or how much longer your savings will hold out.

I lost a job because of being drunk. In my defense they never mentioned in the orientation manual that showing up shitfaced would be frowned upon.

You're right - I don't want to take this job but I feel I should so I keep procrastinating

i say its usually bad idea to take work that you clearly do not enjoy. Ofcourse if times are tight you might not have option about that. it really kinda depends of your circumstances.

If you didn't want it, why did you apply for it?

Because I was getting depressed about not getting a job I wanted so I applied for a job I knew I'd get even though I didn't really want it

If I do that on my first day it might solve my dilemma!

I joke about it but, even though I hated the job, I still feel really embarrassed about it. Whatever advice you choose to take or not to take, trust me, you don't want to get caught drunk at work. That sort of thing haunts you.
