That was 2013, before the release. The release had, er, problems, and I seriously doubt GOG's plans regarding the game didn't change in light of that.

I don't think they are selling the Arkania remake even in Steam at the moment. It was all in all a disasterous project, at least technically. The devs did patch it, but what I read it was missing a lot of features and was all around incomplete, despite it wasn't even sold as an early access title.

Problems are to be expected in a pre-Alpha release. The only real problem was that they tried to sell their pre-Alpha as a finished game oO
