Just what the title says. I'm taking a firm stand on this: If Alpha Centauri on GOG doesn't include Alien Crossfire (including the faction editor), then I won't purchase it here.

Some recent events have inspired trust and faith in GOG, but this game is too important to leave to chance: The AC-or-Bust Alliance will launch Planet Busters equipped with singularity engines at both GOG and EA headquarters if we don't get Alien Crossfire.

No Alien Crossfire = No Purchase.

Alien Crossfire or gtfo.

Who's with me?

P.S. - If you join up but live in Europe or the United States, then we'll send a gravship to pick you up and take you to our secret Antarctic base before the launch.
Alpha Centwhat?
Yeah, it'd be better to have gold version of Alpha Centauri.

I am ABSOLUTELY with you. If they release this without Alien Crossfire it will be a travesty. Though in general GOG has been good about releasing expansions and sequels on other occasions they have dropped the ball (i.e. Why did they only release Space Rangers 2: Dominators but not Reboot? Stupid)
Boom, headshot GoG!

Wouldn't be worth it if they didn't get the expansion. And I see no reason why they wouldn't give us the expansion either.
Hmm I'm not ready to commit. I want this game too badly! Once I commit there is no going back. My convictions have already caused me to miss out on Civ5, Fallout: New Vegas, and a free copy of the upcoming Elemental: Fallen Enchantress. And my conviction to boycott securom has already caused me to miss out on SMAC for many years now. My "give up a game for the cause" casualty list includes others as well. I gotta have SMAC!

Besides, I'm certain that GOG would get it if they could (especially with the fan feedback this game has already garnered). So if it's not offered, I'd imagine it would be EA's doing not GOG's. I'd not want to punish GOG for EA's folly.

What about price point: If it's only Alpha Centauri but $5.99 I can live with that. If it's $9.99 then it really should have the expansion.

According to the gog.com newsletter it's gonna be 5.99.

I think it's a bit silly to outright boycott if the expansion isn't there at the $5.99 price tag.
Love Alpha Centauri, played it to hell and back and will do so again. However, I never really enjoyed Alien Crossfire.
Compared with the other factions, the Aliens seemed rather overpowered. Playing a game with Crossfire, the Aliens always took the most dominant spot among all factions. Without Crossfire, each faction was able to develop to that point.

So, no. Just Alpha Centauri works for me as it always has.

Where do we sign up for the newsletter? I can't find it. I've checked both email alert boxes but see nothing relating to a newsletter? I rarely bother with newsletters, but GOG is a huge exception. I am very much interested in whats happening on the GOG front!

EDIT: Nevermind. I've been getting them along.
The postman just hasn't delivered mine yet. The last one I got came on May 27th.

I'm one of those users who are interested in the most complete packages possible.

If all the expansions for a game are not available, I won't even wishlist it. I know GOG will probably bundle them for free if they eventually get them, but look at Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six: they've been sitting there expansionless for years.

So, for now, I'm not interested in games such as Spellforce 2, Space Rangers 2, Dungeon Keeper and WC:P. Get all the content, or no deal. It's enough that I will have to play through Realms of Arkania 1 and 2 with midi soundtrack.
I have to agree with you on this. I'm more than happy to see some EA classics here, but I hope that the subpar versions of Dungeon Keeper and Privateer with their missing expansions will not set a precedent for future EA releases.

I bought yesterday's games anyway because I want to support GOG for their successful efforts in getting EA on board, but I will be more discerning about my purchases in the future.
Stop being ridiculous, Alien Crossfire is hardly a crucial part of perfect SMAC-experience. Some extra factions (and faction editor) and features, big deal. They do add a bit a flavor after you've played original SMAC for ages but with or without SMAC is still easily the best in the Civilization-genre.

If you liked ANY of the Civ-games, you will love this one and it will be way better. With or without addons.
