You are probably going to have to send the code first to someone, because you aren't well known and have low rep. I doubt anyone will trade with you any other way.

There's been a few people impersonating well known forum members and scamming some trades. Usually anyone with low forum rep trades first, so it's not that big of a deal. But yeah, use the classifieds thread.

Don't trade with a suspicious guy, low rep.
If somebody Private message you, be sure to check his profile, and that he isn't impersonating a high rep forum member, and most of all, good luck.

You might want to find a middleman for the trade, someone who can check both codes to make sure they are legit before they are sent off.

It's not just scammers, but also some unrealistic trading offers, and alot of repeat posts are in there recently.
