Following Realtime World's somewhat tragic release of APB last year, the Reloaded Free2Play version seems to play absolutely brilliant. I have thoroughly enjoyed the three or so hours that I have spent in it already. Most of the issues from last year's release seem to have been fixed, not that I bought it of course.

Anyone else been playing the Open Beta?

I was in the original open beta and swore that I'd never touch that game again, even with a ten-foot pole.

What were the main reasons for that?

Several reasons.

The controls were awful. The network code was buggy. The payment system (when it was revealed) was an instant deal breaker for me. The whole "social aspect" of the game seemed absolutely pointless (it's a shooter, not facebook). And finally, the game itself became incredibly boring very quickly.
I'm actually playing, and having a lot of fun with it. Me and my buddies Clanned up and took toe the streets kicking some ass, and mostly getting our asses kicked.
I had a go of the beta a few weeks back and if you had a team of mates and a lightspeed network then could be a good bit of fun but for the moment it feels more like wasted potential.

Wasted potential with way too much lag
