I know i am :-) Do you think it going to be any good?

Any way i digress Which Xcom was the best and why?

I believe it was Apocalypse b casue it was the first in the series i played and the first PC game i discovered graphics ment next to nothing gameplay and ambition means alot more. Since then i started to play alot older games i used to be one of those move with the times people but not any more.
It's rather irrelevant for me since it's going to be a Steamworks title, so I won't be buying it anyway.

That said, after Civ5, I have kind of lost my faith in Firaxis. The lead developer for Xcom doesn't have any game design experience either, he was a tech guy before. Of course, he could still be good.

I kind of hope that the game is a success, just to send a message to the market that "oldschool" tactical/strategic games are still viable, much more so than clueless shooters grafted onto a tactical franchise. But it doesn't really move me.
While I'm not blown away by the demo, I will buy it probably in the next month.

As it is a Steamworks title I can get it very cheap on Amazon or a UK site, and Xenonauts still isn't final, so it has little competition.

Be honest, I could list all of the shortcomings and in the end it is still a X-COM game. Made by Firaxis no less.

For better or worse, it will be a must play for everybody who even glanced sideways at a tactical game in the last twenty years.
Got it for US$32 after all the discounts and discount codes so even if it sucks it's not that huge a loss, I've got Xenonauts and UFO Extraterrestrials 2 to fall back on anyways.
I'm cautiously looking forward to it, although I haven't gotten around to playing the demo yet so that will more definitely determine my enthusiasm level. However, as the game is a Steamworks game I won't be getting it until it drops into the sub $10 range (or sub $20 range if the demo really blows me away and the game gets outstanding customer reviews), which puts a bit of an upper limit on how much I'm capable of looking forward to it.
I'm still looking forward to it. But I think they messed up with the demo. Not only was the size absurd for a demo with that little content, but the demo is also entirely on rails.

The developers comments directly contrast what the demo shows. They've promised dynamic games like the original X-Com. The demo gives absolutely no hint to that.

Still, I think the game will be pretty fantastic so I'm still excited.

I was. But then 2K's regional price gouging put paid to that. I'm not paying extra for a PC game solely based on my location. So, I'll wait until it's in a $10 or less sale, then get it gifted to me from a cheaper region. 2K want to try and get more money out of me with tactics like that, they can enjoy getting far less out of me as a result.
I hated the original XCOM games from the 1990s. However, I tried the demo of the new XCOM "re-imagining", and I really enjoyed it. I will get the boxed version but not on the launch day. I am not an idiot who would pay the full retail price to "rent" or "lease" a game at Steam. I should be able to use the product code that comes in the box to register the game at Steam anyway, another reason why I should never pay the full price to buy a new game at Steam.

Definitely looking forward to it. I've had it pre-ordered for weeks. Love what I've seen in game play videos and read in interviews.

Is it exactly like X-Com? No. But why would I want that? I WANT something with differences.
I was ready to make a day one purchase, but i came to my senses. The demo helped me overcome that urge. I'm still looking forward to XCOM, wagging my tail like dog, but i'll give it some time before purchase, december perhaps.
Not particularly. The demo was interesting but I don't feel any urge to put the game on high priority.
It'll be fine, it's Sid and the boys.

I don't think it will sell well among this sites users, due to the aforementioned Steamworks DRM.

If you pay them for it, you fit into their economic projections either way.

So, basically I'm the only one excited about it coming out.

I pre-ordered it from Amazon, so yes, I am excited. I played the demo (both unmodded and modded) and definitely enjoy it (though I also have been paying a lot of attention to the dev videos and their interviews/playthroughts, and that is a lot more interesting to me than the demo was).

Since both XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Dishonored come out on the same day, and I know I want to get both, I chose XCOM over Dishonored to get first, mostly because it has been longer since I've played anything like XCOM, whereas I've played first person, RPG games more recently. But I'll probably get Dishonored around Christmas (during a sale most likely).
I loved the old X-COM series and I am excited for this new title. I have yet to play the demo and to be honest I'm not sure that I want to. I think I prefer to be wowed or satisfied or disappointed with the game in its entireity. I won't buy the game on launch day, I very rarely do, but it will be high on my future buy list.
I personally can't wait. Going to purchase it day one...even though I probably shouldn't since it will be on sale on Steam by December.

Very frustrating actually.
