It seems that now, if you're in possession of any form of pornography, you will be searched by airport customs.

The spokesman said the "express reference" to pornography was intended to make travellers aware that some forms of pornography were illegal to bring into Australia.
The spokesperson also said that the change was aimed to increase the chance of intercepting illegal porn.
However Sex Party President Fiona Patten says the change was "sneaked through" by the Minister for Home Affairs, Brendan O'Connor.
“How can the Minister call this monstrous invasion of people’s privacy and the criminalisation of hundreds of thousands of people who will answer ‘no’ to this question out of embarrassment, a ‘minor’ or ‘machinery’ change?” Ms Patten said.
Would anyone admit that though? I mean is it just as simple as "DO YOU HAVE P0RN - YEA OR NEA"? Seems kinda odd.

They'll probably run random checks as well, especially on bags with DVDs.

Well if they intentionally answer No when they are in fact carrying any form of pornography, then they're breaking the law and if caught, are going to have a fairly hard time of it.
Personally, I think this is yet another sign of certain elements in Australia going too far.

Haha... "hard" time!
I wonder how long it will be until someone purposely fills up their hard drive with goatse type photos just to make the security checkpoint people look at them.

From what I've seen from a tv reality show called "Border Security" they already checked all your DVDs if they see 1 or more with porn.
In which case they would also check your laptop and anything else that could store photos and/or movies.
Not the best law.
I can only hope custom officers find some DVDs in this minister's luggage when he returns home.
