I tried the original bg 2 dark alliance like 6 years ago and its like this-the regular enemies are brutal and you just attack from the flank with a melee weapon. Then you get these bosses that are so horribly tough its no fair.

In Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, you at least have a shot at the main bad guys and you can change the odds with practice. With the last boss in the 1st dark alliance, you cant even get her past 1/4th health.
She is fast like drizzt and tougher than sarevok. She can fling her sword that automatically hits you 100% percent of the time when you go far away, no blocking works against it, nor no evasion. She performs flurries that can 1 shot ko.

In Baldurs Gate 1, Sarevok has a lot on you being outmatched but this is too much. I play a dwarf fighter that has the best sword in the game and yet this chick in DAlliance 1 has more testicles than my character. So the dwarf has 1 nut and she has 3. Idk. Its almost funny.

What difficulty were you playing? I am on normal and I bet easy is just as merciless. I never had problems with Diablo 2 and the ubers. The enemies in the games have not only made up stuff but make no sense. Drows riding lizards? They must be really reading the wrong books. I played the 2nd game too and the end boss is impossible as well. He's like a fuckin vampire that heals himself back to 100 health every hit. Since when do vampires in BG wield swords.

I think normal, I played as the mage. I never really had a problem until I think act 2 because i never found the shop npc until halfway through the act.
I've played through both on at least Normal difficulty, solo and co-op... not so difficult

Beat Dark Alliance 2 solo as Ysuran on Normal last year, most difficult fight was probably the boss at the end (annoying grab + vampiric life Ieech attack)

The Onyx Sword? It should be extremely effective against Eldrith.. and anything else in the game

Drow riding lizards have been around since 2nd edition (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons tabletop), possibly 1st in a tsr supplement or RPG magazine commissioned by TSR through White Dwarf (some writers who worked on White Dwarf did side work for TSR possibly). White Dwarf has had dark elves riding cold ones since the 1st edition of Warhammer hit the public (early early 80's). It would not surprise me if there was a submission for the fiend folio of yore (the sequel to monster manual) and if they didn't make the cut, were included in supplemental material through White Dwarf magazine (back then I think TSR also commissioned them to write supplemental books). So if your wondering where the drow riding dinosaur thing came from, blame White Dwarf.

As to vampires wielding swords, it's based on tabletop fantasy, who doesn't wield a sword? I mean even wizards wield swords (to go to more ancient sources, even Gandalf from "The Hobbit" and "Lord of the Rings" rocks a sword)
