orcishgamer: I know we have some other WOW and ex-WOW folks here. Has anyone else suddenly been getting a ton of these "You Battle.NET account has been changed please come here to login so we can steal all your stuff."

I quit WOW years ago, my WOW account isn't even attached to a Battle.NET account and the URLs are obviously bogus (as well as the return email). I am just curious if an old guild website got hacked and they obtained a specific list of email addresses to target in that manner or if WOW is actually big enough it's worth them carpet bombing everyone randomly in the hopes that they have a WOW/Battle.NET account.

My curiosity won't let it go (neither will they, 3-5 emails per day for weeks!).
MMOs in general are big enough for them to just spam whatever email address that they can find. I did an experiment not too long ago where I created a fake email address, just to see how many Nigerian scam mails I could get, by leaving my email very visible, and WoW-related spam was quite common in that one as well.

orcishgamer: Boom, you answered the question. If you get these and never played this is probably a shotgun approach. It boggles my mind that this is profitable, but oh well.
Spamming is cheap, and not many need to fall for it for the spammers to at least make some profit.
