Heh. The Japanese release isn't until sometime in November and I see Twitter is full of comments of people buying from GamersGate and using VPN access to play now.

Well, I assume (perhaps incorrectly) that Battlefied has always had SP. At least #2 did in the form of bot fights. Only this time, that apparently decided to scrap the bot mode entirely and add a campaign along the same lines as COD instead.

If it kept the bots for use on multiplayer maps, I'd happily pay the current price as it would further extend playability once the campaign is finished. (FYI, I pretty much detest playing with other people in except in rare circumstances, bots a simply far more enjoyable for me.)

So ultimately, while I'm interested in the game, I'm just not sure the SP is worth the current price. But then again, if it's of the same level as the COD campaigns, I might still be tempted as long as it isn't too short...

I renewed my IGN Prime membership and opted for the 2 year option. I was going to be paying quarterly anyway, so I've saved myself some money and earned a free game too. :)

Played two games a while ago, and a couple of levels from the campaign. The Battlelog matchmaking is crap (you'd have hoped they wouldn't use a webpage for it) and I keep getting disconnected or kicked by admins. Apparently a lot of people have the same problem.

I kept getting kicked/disconnected from every game (at least the punkbuster ones) in under 2 minutes in Bad Company 2. I had to go to Punkbuster's website and download the newest version and install it over the one that came with the game to fix it. I heard that Battlefield 3 uses Punkbuster, so maybe it's something similar.

Looks like DRM is killing the Europe launch. Reports are coming in from across the continent of people who are unable to activate their games. Including me. DRM FTW!
