I loved Diablo 1& 2 but burnt out on them years ago. Of the "Diablo clone" games, which did you ike best? Any to avoid?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but have you tried Diablo 3? :D

Also, you can try Torchlight series - some of creators worked on Diablo series in the past.
Of the ones I've tried, Titan Quest was the most enjoyable, actually real good.
Torchlight was fine enough, couldn't get into Torchlight 2 or Dungeon Siege 3 (haven't tried previous sieges.
I'd also say Torchlight...

Or if you have a weaker system, DarkStone will work too.

If you enjoy Rouge-likes, there's a Diablo-RL for free, but has ASCII art...
dungeon siege 1 and 2 are quite good dungeon cralers
and they have bigger scopes then diablo 1 or torchlight both of whom are confined to 1 locale

3 is totally different from 1 and 2
and it must be said not half as good

The first two Dungeon Siege (but, please, try to get an edition that has the expansion in a retail shop, as the Steam versions do not include those), Heretic Kingdoms series, Loki, Silverfall series. The rest were already mentioned. There aren't that many games like Diablo, so...

You also might want to check Grim Dawn when it will come out from Early Access (game made by the very people that developed Titan Quest).

Closest games to the original Diablo mood: definitely the Heretic Kingdoms series.
Depending on what you liked about Diablo Divine Divinity may also be worth a look. It doesn't have that gothic atmosphere and it's story/fixed quest based instead of randomized. But running around killing things for loot and XP feels a lot like the original Diablo. Imagine a mix between "classic" RPGs (like BG) in terms of story and click-to-kill like the typical ARPG.

Torchlight is indeed very Diablo-esque, but a little more cartoony (IMO). A matter of taste, I guess.
Titan Quest is pretty long, complicated, fun, and similar to Diablo games in many ways... Also the ancient fantasy and the mythology heavy scenario, was actually a great, innovative idea for the entire genre.

Divine Divinity as mentioned above is a great game, but more like a crossbreed between Diablo and Baldur's Gate. In gameplay and/or atmosphere, people claim it resembles ultima (but i haven't played that so i cannot comment).

Sacred is praised, never liked it, and to be honest, seems pretty dull.

Path of exile is also praised, but is an MMO (if i remember correctly), so it doesn't count either.

Torchlight is good. Yet mediocre. But good.

And fate series is interesting, but very old, and now their age has caught up to them.

Din's Curse is an enticing new title, it is sold here, too.

And keep away from Diablo 3. That is the worst thing ever created, even if only for the always on thing, to even play a single player scenario. Or the 60 euros initial price.

Probably the best part is hearing the character talking to his enemies. 'Get back here! I haven't killed you yet!!', and similar taunts.

Think i played the battlemage... Of course it was the voice actor that was in the unwritten tales games...

I second this.
Titan Quest is fantastic and allows for some really cool character builds.

Divine Divinty has some wonderful humor but has a set world and monsters don't respawn.

I also enjoyed Torchlight 2 as a colourful and casual Diablo clone but from the games mentioned here Titan Quest would be my first choice and is the most similar to Diablo 2 in my opinion.
Path of Exile is the very best you can get right now and the kicker is that it's free to play.

You tried Titan Quest?
Titan Quest is quite good. You might also want to have a look at some of the major TQ mods called "Diablo 2 Immortal - Enhanced Edition" and "Diablo 2 Lilith".
Grim Dawn
Path of Exile
Titan Quest
Torchlight 2

The first two Dungeon Siege games (haven't played 3 or the expansions for the first two) are pretty good as well, though they're a bit different to the ARPGs above

You can play it solo if you want - the only times you have to see other players are in the town areas for each act.
