Yep, Basilisk Games is on the lookout for some beta testers for their upcoming game, Eschalon Book 2. Thought I would share with the community, in case anyone is interested.

Something I would not mind trying out one day, but I just don't have the hours to put into it. Demand was rather high for Book 1 IIRC, expect similar here.
To be fair, I think Book 1 got a lot of its hype from Penny Arcade (effectively) endorsing it (Greenhouse Games or whatever distributes this and PA's game, and that is really it :p).
Had a lot of potential, but never really got in the mood for it.
I rather enjoy Book 1 and am looking forward to Book II.
No time to be a beta tester, but I am waiting to buy Book II when it is released. If anyone is interested, they can pick up the demo for Book 1 here.

Thanks Faithful - Just downloaded the demo and gave it a few minutes time. Looks like it may be a great little diversion. I am not to keen on the movement controls - know of any way to change them?

No, I know of no way to change them. I too did not like them, but I have gotten use to them since playing.
You can click on the Middle Mouse Button and the character will continually walk and you simply move your mouse in the direction you want him to travel. This works very well, and you simply click to make him stop.
Hope this helps you out. Oh, do not waste your torches, they can be your friend at times. :o)
