I have been eying this game just recently and of course what attracted me was the fixed camara angles and you all know how much I like it, and its made from Origin Entertainment.

How different is this game compared to anyother games using Fixed Camara?
The gameplay is about just as bad as Alone In The Dark, but just as the said game if you play it for its story and atmosphere and you will have a good time. =P

I loved Alone in the Dark 1, just everything about it even the camara angles and controls :D
The gameplay is indeed pretty horrible and the combat especially is very clumsy. But if you can get past the controlling issues it's an okay game, but not among Origin's best games IMO.
Bump?
I love it though I haven't played it all the way through. Being able to beat people with their own limbs is always fun.
It's science fiction version of Alone in the Dark. Good, atmospheric game with terrible controls and camera angles :)
Based on my memories of the denmo from years and years ago, you get a guy to death with an torn-off arm. AN ARM.

Sold.
I'd give it a shake. If you can get through the initial puzzles, then continue, sir.
The controls are definitely a product of their time, if you're fine with that then it's pretty good.

The story is quite fun from what I remember, especially as you figure out who you were before the operation and why you're there. The only downside is the sequel they tease at the end never came to pass.

Indeed, I remember being really drawn into the story back in day, it was a great mystery to find out who you were and what had happened (similar to Planescape: Torment a few years later, come to think of it, in which you could also beat people with a severed arm! :D) So I really enjoyed it despite hating the (all-?) keyboard controls and fumbling through the combat. (I was more into point-n-click adventures back then). These days, you could easily setup a gamepad to map the keyboard and it would play much better. I did that recently for Resident Evil 1 and it worked quite well.

I am gonna buy it now, just a reminder are the controls exactly like Alone in the Dark? Arrow Keys are movement and SPACE is the action button?
I owned it when it originally came out and enjoyed it. Have picked it up again on GOG but not replayed it yet. As other have said, if you enjoy AITD games, you'll likely enjoy this. I think it's worthwhile, especially at this bargain price.
