Graphics aside, are the Blackwell and Alan Wake series similar in story nature, or are they completely different? The Alan Wake caught my eye in a flash sale, and then I saw a Blackwell one, and to me, they looked the same; but, I could be so far out of the ballpark, I am not even in line to get in. Just trying to decide if one is better than the other. Thanks all!
They're very different games; alan wake's story is sort-of like twin peaks as in it's grounded in the center between reality and fantasy elements; blackwell's is way more fantastical, with less horror over/undertones, i think; i've only ever glanced at the game. you should still try alan wake, though, absolutely brilliant game.

I like them both.

I don't think they similar, Blackwell is a classical point and click detective adventure game while is a horror action game. Their only common trait is in both the story is based on the paranormal.
It is clear I was not comparing apples to apples. Thanks everyone!!
I didn't think there was enough gunfights in Blackwell. You also only used a flashlight maybe once or twice in the series.

Joking aside. They're not really comparable. One is a third person shooter, the other is an oldish styled adventure game.
It's like asking how Doom holds up to Command and Conquer.

Edit: Both are good though.
