HypersomniacLive: DailyFreeBooks (and a number of other such sites) check which digital shops offer daily free ebooks - sadly, that's mainly Amazon.
I prefer DailyFreeBooks because of the variety of efficient filters one can apply, among which is checking only for Smashwords.

If you have some time on your hands, the "Free eBooks And Audio Books To Read Online Or Download" section of Gizmo's Freeware is worth checking out.

Glad I could help, fingers crossed you (and anyone else into digital reading) find interesting material to read - I know how it is to be unemployed for a long time (>12 months), (any form of) entertainment doesn't even make it as the last entry on one's priority list.

Yep. If not for public libraries and such, I wouldn't even able to login here (no luxuries like Internet access at home). ;)

To anyone disappointed by DRM: unswindle may no longer work, but it has left a wonderful legacy. To not get GOG into trouble, I advise you to research the most convenient fork at your leisure.
