Though I want to direct this question to my fellow brazilian gogers, feel free to take part in the discussion if you're from anywhere else.

So, since this month some Brazilian banks aren't accepting that we buy stuff priced in Reais on stores abroad. That means, among other things, no more buying games on steam through paypal or the international credit card directly.

I was trying to get Crysis Maximum Edition when I learned this. Sad me is sad, now.

So, how are you fellow Brazilian gogers who also use Steam buying your games over there now?
I'm not Brazilian but how about getting someone outside Brazil to buy Steam prepaid cards and you pay them back via money transfers?
Sad to know that mate, but hey atleast you were able to, I had to fly to the US, create a bank account there so I could buy stuff abroad, also my country is going through their worst days, it's impossible to buy stuff here, we have exchange control so a black market appeared because of 12 years of exchange control, so you can imagine how expensive is to get $1.

I hope you figure out a way to keep being able to buy games mate, my best wishes to you.
I'm not Brazilian, but I'm in Brazil. I use my debit card from Uruguay through PayPal. Here on GOG though I need to enter the card directly because if I try to use PayPal it redirects me to some special PayPal for Brazilians and it asks me for my CPF. It's kind of annoying, really. It only happens here, Steam, GamersGate, Groupees, no problem.

Want me to grab Crysis for you?

I haven't bought anything on Steam since the new rules began (so many bundles, so many cards to sell and get steam credits), but can't you use any of the other lots of payment options which won't make you pay IOF?

Thank you for the offer, but I must solve this thing if I mean to keep buying games there in the future. :)
My last Steam purchase was just last week with Paypal and it went without a hitch. I'm not sure whether it's a gradual process and my bank/cc/whatever is still in the process of being updated on this change, or if I'm just the pica das galáxias.

Have you tried other payments methods, such as PagSeguro?
Thanks for all the suggestions, people. I really appreciate them.

I ended up making an experiment with pagseguro. Though it said at the end of the transaction that I would have to wait until it was approved to have access to my games (instead of the usual: "here are your games, sir"), they actually were available already, because pagseguro had already pointed that the transaction went through.

Once again, thanks!
