I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this error.

I wanted to buy the Blackwell Bundle and The Whispered World (both in cart upon checkout). Upon checking out and pressing 'pay now' at the PayPal website, I got returned to GOG and got a message saying the order failed.

I tried both with my Visa and my Paypal (linked to my Visa). I phoned my bank and my Visa has not been blocked. This made me believe the problem is happening at GOG's end.

I then bought The Blackwell Bundle separately without any problems. I then wanted to buy The Whispered World separately, but once again, I got the payment error.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Just tried with another game, got the error again. Still a little paranoid, thinking my bank shut me down. ;p

Have you tried using a different browser and are all of your NoScript-style extensions off? Tried clearing your cache?

The fact that he could buy the Blackwell Bundle without any problems suggests that the problem is not on his end, I'd say.

Then the only thing I can think of is to contact Support detailing any error messages that may or may not occur, browser, etc. etc.

Also, mrtophat, are you buying this for yourself or as a gift?

I was trying to buy the game for myself. Earlier today I bought a Gift copy of Gemini Rue, and the transaction went without any hiccups.

A very friendly Starmaker just PM'd me with a code for The Whispered World, so I will not be needing to do the transaction anymore.

If I see the error again in the future, I will contact support. :)

Glad to hear the issue got worked out, one way or another :D

And yes, please do let us know if there are any weird glitches like this. In fact, I would recommend contacting Support anyways just so we can see if this is going to be an issue later on for others :D.

Check with your bank in case they have an online commerce limit or something. Because:
- buy a game for 4.99: success
- buy two games for 14.98: failure
- buy one game for 7.49: success
- buy the other game for 7.49: failure
- buy an unrelated game for an unspecified amount: failure
sounds like a spending cap.
