I would be lying if I said I wasn't going to buy this but I'm not happy about the DRM at all.
low rated
Bunch of whiners in here it seems....who don't remember the demo for RE 1/2 being timed to like 10 minutes of play.

Capcom didn't charge €39.99 for the Resident Evil demo.

And this life expectancy I've been hearing about is for the shits, too. I mean come on, 70-80 years??? I won't be surprised if Capcom is found accountable.

I don't remember. I have my RE 1 /2 PC discs right here. You don't need to log into GfWL or some crappy Capcom server to play the full game. WTF does a timed demo have to do with anything?

I meant people complaining about the limited features(Multiplayer/etc) in the new game's demo being similar to the way they limited the old RE games with a time limit(the demos at least)

Capcom has been really DRM-happy for some time, on both consoles and PC. It's a rather disappointing trend with them. I love Capcom, yet I rarely buy from them these days. The last time was possibly Final Fight: Double Impact, or one of those Capcom Classics Collections. FF: Double Impact was the first I learned of their new DRM fever.

People aren't complaining about limited features in the demo, they are complaining that there's a DRM that turns the full game into "a demo version" when it isn't online.

Oh, my bad then. How does it do this? And why?

StingingVelvet: Glad I don't give a shit about fighting games, or Capcom games in general really.

Their community manager on their forum has mentioned perhaps toning this down due to the reaction, or promising to patch it out eventually. So those interested should wait and see.
I hope they will let us play local versus matches with all characters if enough people complain. Patching it out after some months would be good too.
I already preordered from D2D when it had a 25% discount and this DRM won't keep me from enjoying the game. But I hope they realize that offline versus in a single machine is a must for a fighting game. Frankly I don't care if I can't access all the unlocked colors, victory poses, or suits while offline but I do want to be able to use all characters.

over 60% of the characters are deactivated when not online.

none of your progress towards achievements or battle scores will be saved if your not online.

and if you drop your connection during game play it gives you a chance to re-establish it, but if your system can't re-establish it for whatever reason: your fucked and the game wipes all your progress for that gaming session.

*edit*
oh yeah, any DLC you buy will also be deactivated when your not signed in online.
