Just watched last week's Chuck on Hulu to get ccaught up for today's episode (great show). One of the ads that kept playing was for Cat Food and had lots of pictures of cute little kittens. What demographic do they think watches Chuck? I have nothing agains cute little kittens, it just seems a bit...well...odd for the typical Chuck viewer.
.
Hulu ads are not directed at any particular demographic, they are randomly inserted into every show, it's just a matter of who was paying for ad space at the moment. I watch anime on Hulu pretty regularly and was assaulted with tampon ads for like a week straight. The next week, it was nothing but charity ads (mostly Haiti earthquake relief). The week after that, Cadillac ads. There is no real rhyme or reason to what ads are placed with which show.
Not related to Hulu, but when I was watching South Park episodes, I got to the season 13 episode "The F Word" where they call all Harley-Davidson riders fags. Then when the online commercials come on, what is the commercial?
Kawasaki sale promotion for Ninja models.
Coincidence? I think NOT. :D

Quoted for complete truth.
I hate Google chrome now because I went about a month or two with the same commercial.
Chuck is awesome! :)

Yeah, there is nothing like watching a string of shows on Hulu (over whatever time period) and getting the same ads every time. It really makes you start to hate that product a bit. I usually pick the front-loaded ads if i have a choice though, but I have noticed recently that they are buggy and don't show correctly for me anymore (they give the black screen with the adblock message for 45 seconds, or whatever). Regular ads work properly though.
As for Chuck, yeah, I think it is a good show. It is on the bubble for renewal (again), but hopefully NBC, after moving Leno back to 11:30pm, won't have to much trouble renewing. I wish they had kept Kristen Kruek around for a few more episodes though; a good cat-fight with Yvonne Strahovski would have been amusing to me.
The only real gripe I have about Chuck is how they are beating the "oh no, I don't like guns, I can't be a real spy" thing to death. I know it is part of his character, but yeesh, it is getting old to me. Maybe it is just me, but I always find myself thinking "Oh, just shoot him and get it over with, already!". Either they let him shoot someone, or they all agree that his intersect-powered martial arts skills are sufficient to the task. Just as long as they stop belaboring it, I'll be happy. /rant
