Between the multiple spellings or slightly misspelled titles and the fact that some games wished for are NOT PC titles (Drakan: The Ancients' Gates was ONLY developed for the PS2, folks, so STOP voting for it), that otherwise great wishlist needs to be checked and snipped/stripped down.
Is there any possibility of creating a MASTER games database with CORRECT game titles and such that will let users know if their game is A) a PC title and B) the one they're wising for (The Dark Eye and Drakensang: The Dark Eye, for example, are two ENTIRELY different games that have nothing to do with each other)...

Every so often, someone asks for this.
It may be dealt with at some point, but it's not a pressing concern.
When the fabled new website gets finished, perhaps then it will be re-done.

Not fabled. They've said multiple times a site update is coming around March (in those interviews on the front page). :)

Well... perhaps more fabled because I don't know what really will be changed. I kinda like this website (even if it needs some updates), I kinda hope it doesn't change too much.

Have faith. I'm sure it will be for the better. :)
How about take the top 100 that have not been added to GOG already, that are PC games and make that the list, and close the other down for now? Of course do not give people the ability to add to it.
I no longer even look at the list as it seems more waste than useful.

Oh, I figured it wasn't pressing, but I hope it's a small matter that's resolved before it migrates. Who wants to move into a new house and take the stuff they were throwing away with them?
just a thought...
(said the guy with about 2500+ games...)
I think cleaning up the wishlist might take a long time, perhaps the GOG team are dreading having to do it!
I wonder if they'll have a completely new one in place, made as you suggest in your OP, GeeLW.
I doubt anyone would care that much if they had to re-vote, if it meant the list being easier to navigate and without duplicates and non-PC titles.

While that's a interesting suggestion, at the end of the day, there are well more than 100 games worth seeing on GOG. I guess my goal is to help people know EXACTLY what games they want to see and if those games actually existed on PC (legally!) at one point. Simply closing the list off until further notice is a problem because you're taking the "power" of suggestion away from users.
Of course, if everyone wishing for games knew the correct titles (or if they were PC games in the first place), I'd not even have to re-fire up this sort of topic...
Heck, even using GameFaqs' not quite perfect (heh) database for a title search before you wishlist a game is helpful than just guessing away (unless the game isn't listed there yet - Takeru: Letter of the Law, anyone?... Bueller?)
Anyway, I'm off to do a bit of dungeon diving...
Adding functions to say "this entry is invalid" and "these should be joined" would probably help the team tremendously in moderating the list. Oh, and fixing how the list is displayed so it's easier for the users to find the bad entries.
It would be nice if the list could be cleaned up, yes. Right now I kind of work around it by either looking at similarly spleled entries and adding a vote for whichever one has the most votes so far, or voting for the entry with the most correct title.
EDIT: Gahh, two out of three posts got through and merged or something.

Yes, there are more than 100 worth seeing, but as some come to GOG they could replace them with the next in line.
I don't understand why this bothers people so much.

Some people are hard to please.
Tiger Woods is a great example.

Think of it as your boss always getting your name wrong (or worse, your wife. or worse, your parents). There's no crime in knowing what you're talking about... even if it's something as trivial as a game name.
After working in game retail for ages a few years back and hearing people ask for "RESIDENTIAL" Evil or claiming they played Donkey Kong on the PlayStation (really?...yikes) - yes, it does bother me (but not as much as you probably think). Again, my suggestion is one that will make the site BETTER for new and future users.
Besides, isn't being RIGHT about something as simple as a name one way to have less confusion in your daily life. Hell, if someone misspells YOUR name on a TSA watch list, you're not getting on an airplane anytime soon and guess what? Getting OFF that list isn't a simple thing.
