Almost a good number of times I go to articles regarding Windows 8, commenters in the forums who dislike Windows 8 keep things like,"Microsoft is practically letting Google slide in the Desktop OS space and dominate it" or something like that.

I want to why Google and why people thinks that has Google made any statements saying they are going into the Desktop OS space?

This has been mentioned millions of times around the internet already. I don't see them expanding the Chrome OS beyond Chromebooks.

Exactly and if it does happen I don't expect it to be very open source since google has their own Store so don't expect Gamersgate, GOG, Steam, or Origin in Google Desktop or something

Google is big enough for me. Don't really want to see them expand into desktop OS.

I'm already tied to them through gmail, Android, and a slew of other related services. Those guys already know too much about me!

It's not a matter of whose "store" it is. GOG, Steam and Origin are not Microsoft's "stores."
It's a matter of compatibility. The vast majority of PC games are developed for MS Windows.

and like the PSP it is because android got hacked to death

I don't see why google would expand into desktops when their business is getting people to put their information online. If people need a computer to handle a bit more power they would use a proper desktop or get a more expansive laptop. For general web surfing use, people are going to get a cheap laptop/tablet/smartphone that has the convenience of portability.

These are the people google want to target, those who spend most of their time online and probably don't think about what apps they are installing or what info they are sharing.
