Does GOG ever update the icons that are used for games? For example, I bought Sacred Gold awhile back and it's always bugged me that the icon is cluttered with things you would see on at a store. Rating and other things. Do they ever clean up icons and replace them?

Don't know, doubt it, I don't have my list set up on the shelf though, I have it the other way where it just list all the games and there is no stickers in that mode, though it doesn't really bug me. If it does you, just switch it to the mode I have, then no worries eh? :D
Nope.
I've never even noticed the option to have them listed. :-P

Solves that problem and the problem of Witcher 2's icon staying over an extra slot.
It bugs me a bit too. I got Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games free for some reason I can't remember and the ESRB rating sticks out like a sore thumb on my lovely shelf. Doubly so because I'm used to PEGI ratings and find those slightly less aesthetically displeasing (probably because I'm just more used to seeing them).

Another thing is that some of the boxart is squashed to fit the aspect ratio GOG uses for it's boxes. Compare Septerra Core for example:
