Bit late isn't it? Maybe they've fixed the flak mission
Is this for the people who would hate on an old game on GOG because it's old but will have no problems shelling out points for this on the XBLA because of achievements?
Oh look, uninspiring achievements because they couldn't think of anything cool to do in the game that would be achievement-worthy. The first equipment - Buy your first equipment.

i did think this was a bit strange myself and it appears to be getting quite a bit of hype from some quarters. Which is a bit strange seeing as it wasn't exactly warmly received on the PC.
Standards are a bit lower on consoles, especially for non-retail games. Whereas on the PC we've seen the likes of Freespace 2 and Freelancer to compare to this, there's really nothing even remotely like this on the 360 that I know of.
And hey, if its success encourages the developer to release a sequel or something it's all good.

no this is for people who prefer there "stupid shooting" games playable from a couch. like me.
this game was horrible
I think you guys are being far too negative. DarkStar One certainly wasn't a bad game, it was good fun but a bit too shallow. With some tweaking and extra stuff, I'm sure it'll work quite well as a console game.
According to a few webstores it'll be released for the PC too, btw.
This isn't actually Darkstar One, but rather a remake/remaster of sorts called Darkstar One: Broken Alliance. The developer is Gaming Minds, not Ascaron (for obvious reasons) and the publisher is Kalypso, not CDV. All they really did was adapt the control scheme to a console, increase the graphics to full 1080p HD and add the achievements. I doubt it will lead to any sequels or anything on the PC.
I really enjoyed Darkstar One.
It actually makes perfectly sense...
Kalypso picked up several titles from Ascarons demise. Recycling one of those with a remake is a rather cheap way getting money in fast.
I also don't see any similar title on the Xbox 360, so the chance of generating a lot of interest and filling that niche looks good.
This isn't a rerelease of the old game as already mentioned, it however could be a simpler one.
Microsoft has already did this, remember Crimson Skies first came out on the PC, then the High Road to Revenge game came out on the original Xbox, both were enjoyable games though the Xbox one was more arcadey.
Darkstar One wasn't really that bad, its just that it had some stability issues that were phased out with the elimination of some side missions in the patch.
