Right, so most all of you know about the PSN screw-up by now, and how NA PS3 customers were offered a small selection of five games from which to choose two to download for free. As is customary, the offending company further shafts its affected customers by offering a selection of games that most everyone owns already (The company knows that everyone already owns these games by way of registration and surveys, etc).

I've already got Wipeout HD + Fury, and I've already got Super Stardust HD. I've already decided on inFamous, so now all I've left to choose from is between Dead Nation and LittleBigPlanet.

I don't know much about either, except that Dead Nation is made by the folks who made Super Stardust HD, and that all content "developed" in LittleBigPlanet will be compatible with LittleBigPlanet 2. Given the massive amount of free content available for LBP already, and the fact that Dead Nation just looks like an arcadey zombie crawl without even so much in the way of bosses (at least not that I've seen from the vids and screencaps I've looked at), I'm leaning towards LBP.

Anyone have any useful information about these games? Also, when does the "You now have 30 days to get your free shit" deadline begin? I doubt I'll get an announcement email from SCE, as my experience with these sort of "We're sorry we dropped the ball" consolation gifts is that companies like to keep the customers in the dark about redeeming said gifts, so that they don't actually have to pay up. It's like how mail-in rebates for $10 still take six weeks just to get to the processing center, and then another eight weeks just to process it and get a check mailed out to you. They make it such a hassle so that no one ever bothers to claim their prizes.

I am getting infamous and wipeout. Didn't care for LBP (and I've been accused of an overactive imagination) but would probably choose over an arcade shooter. I agree that this is really cheap on Sony's part.
I'm pretty sure you can get a used copy of LBP for like 3 bucks.
Or get LBP2 for around 20 bucks.
Unfortunately the entire selection of free games sucks (not the games, the selection).
LBP is cute and fun and weird and has thousands of user made levels, a few of which even manage to not suck balls.

Dead Nation isn't one I've played but from the videos it sort of looks like a game you play one weekend when your mates come round and then not really go back to again

Hows WipeoutHD? I was vaguely contemplating that one myself

Wipeout HD is great but it's almost off-puttingly hard. Expect to race tracks 5 or 6 times before you win, also you only win by coming 1st. I think it includes Fury too doesn't it? That'd make it the best value of them all price wise. Infamous is the pick of the bunch though I'd say.

I'll probably end up getting Ratchet & Clank & Little Big Planet as I'm sick of twin stick shooters and zombies in games. I love Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 because they got the formula right but I don't need or want zombies in every game.
I do own infamous but I've loaned it to a mate in another city so I was vaguely thinking of getting that because I'm currently in the mood for it. Then again SHE could get that and give me back my physical copy, yeah I might do that then

WipeoutHD is what you'd come to expect from former Psygnosis employees. They call themselves "Studio Liverpool" now or something. Anyway, it's just an "HD" upgrade of the original Wipeout for DOS/Saturn/PS1. The game itself is comparable to F-Zero, whereby you can cause damage to other drivers by ramming into them, but you're going too fast for that to be an effective strategy, so weapons are the better option (even though F-Zero really didn't have weapons, and the only really effective way to "retire" other racers was to literally knock them "off course" in areas where there wasn't any sidewalls). You get new skins and "Loyalty Upgrades" for winning multiple races with a particular "brand's" vehicle model, so there's that extra element of replay value. Were I you I'd get it or Super Stardust HD.

Is Rachet & Clank being offered in Europe? Probably because some bean counter charted up that the majority of users affected in Europe/UK already own it as opposed to how many users own it in the USA.

On another related note, I did some research, and found out that the company that Sony and Qriocity are offering free 60 days of ID Theft protection service from (that is, the company is, through a partnership with Sony, offering free service, not that Sony is offering protection from this company stealing your ID), name of Debix, is the #6 rated ID Theft protection company according to TopTenReviews.

Here is the Comparative List (or Top Ten list, if you will), Debix is, as I said, #6, and LifeLock is still #1.

Here is the individual review.

Europe gets;

LittleBigPlanet
Infamous
Wipeout HD/Fury
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Dead Nation

My question is, I have two accounts one of which is registered as a US one. Wonder if I get 4 games? Would be nice, although none of the games really interest me that much.

Aren't you only allowed one account per machine?
I've got three user accounts registered, 2 for me, one for the GF. Each has to have different user details so that's three sets of data lost.
having already done LittleBigPlanet and Infamous im rather unimpressed with what that leaves me with (as far as Ratchet & Clank goes i dont really want to get it having not done any of the others, and if i had done them i would already have bought it anyway)

the choice needed to be at least double what was given, preferably more.

I enjoyed LBP and had a great time with Infamous though so theyre good choices for those who havent already got them
I think I'll go with LBP then. I mean, Dead Nation strikes me as just another "Mow down a practically solid mass of monsters that is encroaching on you from all sides for as long as your ammo holds out" game. I had enough of that after Crimsonland.
I already own all the games, and this is the order I rank them in, personally:

1) LittleBigPlanet
2) WipEout HD
3) inFamous
4) Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
5) Dead Nation
