Interesting read even if its mostly just the stuff we've been saying for ages now
Yeah pretty much what we all know. Strange though, it's not until someone writes a summary like that till you realize just what shitbags Ubisoft are acting like. Every publisher is guilty of doing something to screw over gamers but it's only Ubisoft that managed to tick every single box.

These expansions aren't available as individual titles on Steam due to an exclusivity deal with Games For Windows Live (GFWL), meaning owners of the regular version will have to tangle with the GFWL service if they want the expansions — never a fun thing. Why not offer them a discounted rate on the Game of the Year edition instead?

In my case, I actually had to buy the GOTY edition on Steam to get the DLC. Microsoft refuse to sell it separately here. Funnily enough, Bethesda now refuse to sell the normal version of Fallout 3 on Steam here (along with both editions of Oblivion).
Bad Company 2 doesn't need a permanent online connection of BC2 if you have retail (you can choose to have a disc check or a one-time authentication).

Must be the same with the GamersGate version, as I've never had to be online to play it.
Also:
Sony: So close! While PSN allows you to pay in straight dollars, the intermediary "wallet" system requires you to have a minimum amount of credit to be able to purchase anything (the amount varies depending on geographical location). This leaves Sony with a nice pocket of loose change that most have given up for good. Yay, free money!

Is this still true? I haven't had to put a specific amount of money in my "wallet" for some time now. The PSN here will simply charge your credit card the required amount. Although you still have the choice of adding money to your wallet it's not mandatory.
The minimum you can add to your psn wallet is $10 , I THINK if you buy stuff thats over $10 it can charge the exact amount but if its empty and you want to buy one comic, you have to put $10 on

I just buy PSN cards in denominations of $200 HKD at retail anyway. It's enough and games cost around $200 here anyway.
Apart from their already highlighted mistake with BF:BC2, there's nothing to disagree with there. They could have taken it further though and gone into the nature of the various DD services and the various problems there.
