Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

I'm good with either, but I thought there was a cool reference another poster made to some of the clues referencing the old EA logo. I mean, the "LA" in the clues is I think the biggest giveaway since EA isn't HQ'd in Los Angeles. GOG could be making a sly reference to Los Angeles with the E3 bit and therefore is still anyone's guess. I think the more mindblowing announcement would be that its both EA and Lucas Arts because of the referenced clues in which case my wife will hate me and my credit card company will send me a christmas card.
I couldn't help but notice that as guesses are made in this forum post, the respective icon is lit on under the map (or I could just be seeing things).

This, plus the "biggest announcement ever" suggests that it could be ALL the publishers are signed with GOG.

K387: EA isn't HQ'd in Los Angeles.
Neither are Lucasarts they are in San Francisco. Both however are in California.

PCGameGuy: If I am reading the countdown timer text right, then in ~4 1/2 hours we will get the LOCATION where the big announcement will be. Since the post-it pretty clearly said E3, 2/6, LA it seems that we will find out that the announcement will be made at E3 in 4 days.

If this is right, then we have longer to wait to find out which publisher it is and it puts it smack in between my paydays. Since fate is cruel to me, I firmly believe that we have another half week of wailing and gnashing of teeth to go before we get an answer.
That does sound plausible, but I certainly hope you're wrong. Obviously, no one gives a crap about the *location* of the upcoming announcement. If this counter really is counting down to another announcement of an announcement, I will be seriously pissed.
Arrrgh, the suspence is killing me, Might have to stay up late tonight just to find out who it is.

TheEnigmaticT already said he fears for his life if they made another announcement of an announcement.
LA=Lucas Arts!!!!
WE FOUND IT! We have tracked Dr M. down after extensive cryptographic analysis of the giant post-it note that we found in the Grand Canyon (by extensive analysis, we mean we read the forums and picked the most likely explanation). We came ready for a fight of titanic proportions, filled with Dr. M's henchmen, more explosions than a Michael Bay movie, and the kind of special effects budget that would beggar GOG for years to come.

However, it looks like the evil Dr. M celebrated a bit too hard last night.

We debated drawing something insulting on his face, but decided that waking him up might not end well for us.

Still WE HAVE OUR STUFF! Stay tuned--in a few hours we'll be announcing the information live on Ustream, right here on GOG.com!
So the pills and beer that the doctor seems to have partied out on look like they came out of the briefcase that he stole. From you.

Suddenly the French Monk makes a lot more sense.
Frankly, I don't quite get all this rampant Lucas Arts speculation, because it's just that: speculation. There's no way GoG would make it that obvious.

Oh, and I'm also saying that because I really, really would prefer to have EA added to GoG's catalog instead. Can't wait to find out who it's going to be... after work. Ugh!

DR. M IS CHARLIE SHEEN

I KNEW IT
To the developers, PR managers, web designers, programmers and various other minions (errr staff) at GOG, I have this simple message for you...

The first step to fighting an addiction is admitting you have a problem...

And as that suitcase shows us... You all have a large problem.. and wait... how did you get all of those drugs?

Wait, some of those drugs are for horses...

Ok, seriously, I am making reservations for all of you at the Betty Ford clinic..
If it is TIE Fighter I may just asplode from happiness.

DrIstvaan: It may sound strange, but I'm still not hyped about today's announcement. I'll *probably* play Space Rangers 2 during the presentation and learn from my brother who the big publisher to join GOG is.
(The "party" can go on now.)
That is a great game to play, during the presentation or not. ;-)
