Wishbone: It looks cool, mind you. It just doesn't look like it has anything to do with Prey.
Which is a good thing really, Prey did not need a narrative sequel. They can call this whatever they want because it looks fucking amazing.
I really like the look of Darksiders 2. Then again Darksiders was also superb.

It does, it does. I just wish they wouldn't do shit like that, because it serves no purpose other than to piss off everyone who buys it expecting a sequel to the first game (and rightly so). I guess they figure that the name will help shift some units, but it can also have the opposite effect. Many people will rather buy a game with an interesting new IP, than a game which fails to live up to the expectations generated by its predecessor. This can be the exact same game, only with a different name. Psychology is a funny thing.
Really liked the Tomb Raider trailer. Too bad there's no gameplay footage as is the norm these days.

Oh I agree, I don't really understand why companies think any name recognition is better than nothing. How many people will see Prey 2 and instantly dismiss it because they didn't like the original, or whatever else? Seems like that could easily outweigh the people buying it because of the name.

Add to that the number of people who see Prey 2 and instantly dismiss it because they did like the original, and hear that it's nothing like it.

Basically, if you want to make a sequel (or new installment in a series), then do so. If you want to make a new game, make a new game. Don't choose a half-hearted middle ground, it'll piss off lots of people.

Right. And if you want to make it in the same narrative world and yet be a different game style, like say Dragon Age 2, then don't feel like you have make it an official sequel. Every James Bond movie has a different title and people still know what they are.

Are you saying Prototype was an Infamous clone or just played like one might play like? Because I'm pretty sure they came out within something like 3 months of each other, I somehow doubt they had time to clone Infamous and launch Prototype.

They play a lot alike. And the story is the same in a number of ways. I don't know if it was coincidence or someone who knew something went to another company or what, and I don't really care, but Prototype plays like a far less impressive Infamous.
