Place for citing remarkable moments of your gaming experience. I'm not talking about just having fun. I mean that tiny "something more". Did it make you cry / laugh / grind teeth / jump off the chair and act like an idiot? Then post it! Come on, you know that there are such games :)
As for me, there would be among others:
Silent Hill 2 - James Sunderland's flashback of him visiting his wife in hospital (after dealing with Pyramidheads). Terribly strong scene.
Portal: Euthanization of Companion Cube - strange amused / disturbed feeling :)
Dreamfall ending - the accompaniment music does a lot...,
Final Fantasy VII aeris' death - sadness also,
The wonderful discovery of the Elders Scroll' Morrowind world,
The fear of Doom 3 when it came out (I finished it recently and I was not scared o_O),
The wonderful exploration of Knytt (This was really a true wonderment) !
Maybe some more but I can't remind it at the moment... I'm also looking forward to playing Shadow of the Colossus and Ico for it has been told to me they were really amazing, speaking of emotions.
Great thread o//

Thief: Deadly Shadows. Shalebridge Cradle.
It made me stop playing the game for 6months. I even uninstalled it. I then thought "Hmm Thief: DS was fun." and reinstalled it only to find that my saved game was still there. Took me a few weeks to load and continue.
Good times :)

Disgaea: bad ending is soooo sad
Disgaea: prism rangers made me laugh my ass off
Final Fantasy VII: sadest moment in videogame history
high rated
MS-DOS: "Not enough memory" - Oh god whyyyy?!?
On a more serious note: Fallout and Planescape: Torment had pretty good endings.

rofl :-D
One more thing from me:
Starcraft - New Gettysburg mission and debriefing. When I realized what has Mengsk done...rrraaaarrrghhh! I mean - is here anyone who wasn't in love with Sarah Kerrigan before she became Queen of Blades? :-D

Emotionally? More like "WOA WTF IS HAPPENING DO WANT MORE" a la Lost :D
I played Shadow of the Colossus when it first came out and was intrigued by the way the game subtly manipulated your emotions about killing the colossi, twisting your values of right and wrong and what lengths a human being will go to for love.
The memories had faded a little a few months back, so I sat down one afternoon and started SotC again from the beginning. It hit 1am as I scaled the last colossus and brought him tumbling down. It's a magical game, and one where I feel that even if you know the game, there's something special about playing it through in one go, much like you would a movie, experiencing it in one unbroken stretch from beginning to end.

Planescape: Torment in many, many parts of the game. Got goosebumps when I talked to 'O'. Felt awe as I upgraded Dak'kon. Got lit up over Annah. Regret with Ignus, and Morte, and several other characters. Regret for stuff I'd never done. Great game.

haha no I wouldn't say emotionally...I actually can't recall any moment in gaming where I felt too emotional about anything. Well...there was that one part of KOTOR where I killed the girl and her wookie...that was pretty heartbreaking. :sniffle:
The one thing that always jumps out at me on threads like this, is when I was playing the 2000 Adventure game The Longest Journey. The main character April was so believable and at one point I said to myself 'That's just unbelievable', a second later April said the self same thing! Following that I don;t think I have been so emotionally affected as with that game, not in the following 8 years up to today has any game of any genre made such an emotional impact.

The Longest Journey and its sequel are pretty impressive games.
I was reading a massive interview with Ragnar Tornquist over on Rock Paper Shotgun a couple of weeks back about The Longest Journey and Dreamfall. Really got me interested in playing them.
