ok.
Gotcha.
I still remember those freaky nights when my Fear copy was still around. The tense situations never left me. I think I'm disturbed by this game.
Look behind you!
Heeey, look! What's over there?
Ah, it's just FEAR on D2D. Lower your weapons. :)
Guess the chances of it coming to GOG just raised, the only problem here is the DRM (and the giant download size.) The bonus content of the Director's edition would be a nice addition here, too.

bansama: WB also like their regional restrictions. So convincing them to sell worldwide will be a challenge -- they've even restricted FEAR on Steam.

D2D page says "This product is available worldwide."
In which countries steam and d2d restricts FEAR?

AFAIK FEAR on both Steam and D2D is unfixed and still suffers from a range of problems including one where Logitech mice will cause the game to seriously slow down after a few minutes. That's not acceptable in my book.
EDIT:

The topic is incorrect, however. It's with Vista as well and the fix does not fix it for everyone.

No idea about D2D as they only just started selling it, however: http://store.steampowered.com/app/21090/?cc=de
According to the D2D page for FEAR, it's a worldwide release.

That is cheating, Sir. We all know that 50% of the games are restricted in Germany, so FEAR restricted there is no surprise by how violent/bloody its gameplay is.

Not cheating at all. If it's restricted in Germany (and most likely a few other locations too) it's still restricted and that means, it's unlikely to get worldwide anywhere else.
Now, I know you'll say that D2D list it as worldwide, but they have had the odd habit of listing games as available worldwide when in fact, they have been restricted. Has anyone in Germany managed to purchase it from D2D?

It was a joke, the cheating part.

Indeed, they did it before. I don't remember for which titles, though.
bansama you need to consider the difference between publisher restrictions and legal restrictions. When D2D says it's available worldwide, it's because the publisher has no problems selling it to every country. In the case of Germany, it's your own government which has forbidden the game from being sold uncensored so D2D isn't allowed to sell it to Germans.

Um, dude. I'm not German. Don't live in Germany and have never even visited Germany. This however, does not negate the fact that FEAR does have regional restrictions (regardless of the reason). And due to that, chances of it appearing on GOG are decreased.

Aah I'm corrected then. I thought you felt annoyed because D2D claimed it was being sold worldwide when it wasn't. I merely meant that it's not D2D nor the publisher imposing restrictions.
I'm not sure every site HAS to offer a country check for these games though.

Me either, which is why I was wondering if anyone in Germany had bought the game from D2D. If they had, then that would tell us that it's Valve imposing the restriction on Steam and that there is a chance it could arrive on GOG.
As for how GOG would handle such a situation, all I can do is assume they'd refuse to sell the game at all so they can keep their regional restriction free promise. But honestly, I have no idea what they would do either.

That's correct. (By the way, my joke was about the legal restriction, and not the publisher's restriction.)
And yes I prefer not having FEAR on GOG, than having it here and starting a wave/trend of regional restrictions on GOG.
What most matters for me about this store is the drm-free, not having regional restrictions and not having different prices for each region.
