catwhowalks: So you took a single, random, non specific comment and assumed it was the definitive authority on the subject? The problem isn't that it's difficult, it's just the you need the exact specifications for it to work. Those can be found here.

It wasn't random. SeanW3 is one of our best modders. If he states something, I trust he knows what he's saying. Heavenfall, however, IS our modding-authority (though even he isn't infallible).

Still, thanks for the info and for correcting me. I'm not into map-making, so I never looked into it. Number-crunching (improvements, traits, weapons, armor, etc.) is more my area. I still need to finish my GalCiv 2 mod first, though, before I start with a mod for FE.
After reading the thread on this over on the Stardock forums it seems to be a pretty resounding "Don't really want" regarding the map pack, and of the ones who do say they'll get it the majority would do it to support Stardock, rather than any particular interest in the map pack.

I hope after that thread Brad stepped off the notion he had of DLC from this quote (which he posted in that thread halfway or something):
Map packs don't require as many resources to create. You can use its sales to judge the general interest in DLC.

His most recently thread on the subject, on the other hand, with his new world map and it's use of some form of boats is generating enough positive feedback and many of the ones who said they didn't want it before have changed their minds.

His most recent thread is just about the map pack, rather than the game as a whole, it would mostly draw people who have an interest in it, so the difference in feedback isn't a direct result of people changing their minds (though no doubt some have), but probably mostly it's a limited audience compared to the big thread.

On the other hand this newest thread was featured on the main site as a major news item, so it's actually more likely to attract more people to it then a single comment on a much longer thread buried somewhere. Also the same people do almost all the posting on the forums anyway.

That's kind of a mean thing to say. I appreciate his efforts to keep GOG'ers informed.

Stardock has released the Map Pack DLC for Fallen Enchantress:

Also, here are two more reviews:

Very cool. I typically only play on Randoms, but this Anthys map intrigues me.
There's 6 new medium stamps, 4 new large ones and 2 huge ones... I only took a brief look via the editor, and the only thing that jumped out was that some (if not all) had roads previously built on them, connecting certain areas, passing through swamps, large deserts, etc...
It's nice to see a bit out there for the random but a few pieces of map is not something I'd buy a DLC for. Still nice for those who are interested in it though.
