There is a good manual with Master of Orion 2, but the upload is a pdf showing two pages spread across one sheet of paper. Even if it fit an 8.5" x 11" sheet, which it doesn't, this would print the font so small as to be impossible to read.
I saved the PDF to Open Office Writer, and it did at least produce a result of one page per
sheet of paper, sort of, but it's really ugly and I'm unsure how to correct the formatting. I'm very unfamiliar with PDFs.....guess I should go see if it can spit the pages up so its one page per side of a sheet of paper, but I suspect that's impossible.
It would be great to see all these Gog manuals uploaded in printable, legible form, intended to be printed out in Portrait orientation, on 8.5" x 11" paper, with a nice big 12-point font, and crisp clean large screenshots.

The fastest way to get a printable manual might be to zoom & position till its got one page per screen, take a screenshot of it and assemble those in sequential order in a word doc for printing

Thanks, that might be do-able, but at well over 100 pages, I'm not sure if it's the fastest method.
If you have access to a full version of Adobe Acrobat it can be done by cropping the pages. You would need to make two copies of the PDF file, one for the left pages and one for the right pages. Keep an unaltered copy for obvious reasons.
Open the "left" pages copy and follow the instructions in the attached image. This will give you a PDF file with only the left pages. The example has the cover on a page by itself so the resulting file has only even page numbers excluding the cover which you would print separately.
Open the "right" pages copy and follow the instructions in the attached image but this time . . . crop for the right pages. In the example used they will all be odd page numbers since there was a blank page next to the cover.
After creating the left and right page copies print the pages being sure to expand to the paper size. You could print the even pages and than print the odd pages on the back of the even pages. If you do that, you should do a trial run of maybe 2 or three double sided pages to make sure you understand the paper orientation before printing too many pages.
The example is done using Acrobat 5, your dialogs may differ.
It is a clumsy way to do it but . . . with limited software . . all I can suggest.
Edit: the manuals GOG supplies are usually PDF's of QuarkXpress documents.

I consider this question solved since your solution eliminates all but a download . . . =)
Edit: He never marks anything solved anyway ;P
